  • New Raynox today.

    Blimey not easy this macro lark,got my Raynox today put it on the 150mm even at f22 i cant get the dof right and i dont know how to do the focus stacking stuff, but will keep at it.

    I know - it needs a steady hand and a lot of patience. I reckon I am binning around 90% of shots at the moment, but I am slowly getting better results.

    I am using the breathing techniques I learnt in the army for shooting - controlled breathing until you get your aim, and then half a breath out - pause - FIRE (without snatching the trigger of course)

      f22 is likely to cause diffraction and cause your shots to be soft.
      Dof is always tiny for macro work.

        May would 10% as a good success rate in macro.
        Controlled breathing and squeezing the shutter button the are what you were taught in photography 25 years ago too. As was holding the camera with the left hand underneath pulling you elbows into your body to brace yourself.
