    That looks an impossible load, how it doesn't capsize I'll never know. Presumably they can only make a voyage like that in calm and settled conditions?

      They actually use divers to weld it onto hold downs before they deballast the lift ship. And its actally very stable, its all very carefully worked out in advance. And those guys dont worry too much about the weather, when your 217 meters long, it needs to get seriously bad to worry you much.

          It just doesn't look like it should stay upright. Really make you curious as to what's below the waterline. As John said it's an amazing image.

            There are loadfs of these guys about now, a lot of the smaller ones tend to do delivery work for yachts etc - a bit like the car transporters you see on the roads.
