  • What's Hot and Black?

I spotted this Blackbird in my back garden. It was a hot day and it was obviously feeling the effects of the heat and the hectic business of feeding its young. It was completely motionless and I was worried that it was sick or injured but after several minutes it suddenly flew off to resume its parental duties.

    E-M1 and 75-300 II.

    Great shots.
We also have a blackbird who adopts a similar open mouthed pose and with wings fully extended on the grass - I haven't managed a picture anywhere near as good as these though!
