  • Classic car show details. Quiz!

OK, it's a long time since I went to a classic car show. It turns out that I have owned many of the cars that are now called classics. They even had an Allegro owners section.... (no I didn't own one of them)

OK. See how many of these little details you can recognise...

    1

    2

    3

    4

    5

    6

    There you go petrolheads..

    Pete

PS, if you are worthy enough I have another 6 or 7 to test you with :-)

Look, I'm an old man. I shouldn't be expected to put up with this.

First ones an E-Type with the bonnet open. Last pic is a Triumph Vitesse.

What do we think? Are these answers correct?

          Good answers.

Yes, an e-type with the bonnet open of course. A Rover 90, A TR6 and a Standard 10.

A Ford Cortina GXL with peeling vinyl roof (whatever became of vinyl roofs) and finally a Lancia Fulvia 1.6 HF I believe.

              Quick guesses
              Hilman Minx
              Triumph Stag
              Ford Corsair
thought it was a Mini but there's no bonnet gap so it's not?
              MGB
              ?
              ?
The last two are very familiar but don't have time to rack my memories as late for work!

Re: Classic car show details. Quiz!

4 looks like my old Morris Minor

2 looks like the filler cap off a Jag E-type

                    1 a Hillman Hunter

and I would have said 7 is a side view of the forward hinging device on another E-type bonnet (paint work looks the right colour too)

Number 5 for me in the second set is a little disappointing. They haven't sourced the correct headlight for the vehicle.
                          Thanks

7" round headlights? Come on Pete. They could be any car in the world made before the 1980s!

The E-type was easy, the rest a bit of a mystery
