  • Tonight's Sky.

    Ahead of tonight's "weather".
If it's anything like last night only people like me who take their hearing aids out will get any sleep. There's already lightning in the distance.

Have a good night and thanks for looking.

Sorry you will have to speak up I have switched off my electric ear before the thunder comes, but it is not too loud under the bed. Lovely sky shot.

30 minutes later and it's flashing and banging and hissing down.

Too hot to go to bed , 20c outside, 28.5 inside.

I saw that eerie, ominous light too, but didn't take a picture! What a night - banging, crashing and flashing and sudden squalls with rain like stair-rods!

Probably only coincidence, but woke this morning with greatly reduced hearing and muffled sensation in one ear - looks like a visit to the doctor on Monday if it doesn't clear!

          Hi John.

Looks like we'll get away with just the rain tonight.

Sounds like your sinuses, this humid weather is playing havoc with mine.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

          Regards.

            Re: Tonight's Sky.

Lovely shot Peter. We had another sunset like that tonight and, sure enough, we now have heavy rain and the thunder and lightning are doing their worst out there. Hopefully it will be a little less hot and sticky now.

Edit. Wow, it's been years since we have had a storm like that. The lightning and thunder were almost simultaneous and it was like daylight in the flashes. The thunder claps were terrifying. An awesome example of nature's power which puts other things into perspective.

Wow Peter, it sure looks ominous in your photo - but pretty too. Full marks for venturing outside with camera in hand.
Sounds like a really good storm!

                Thanks Lyn.

Last night we just got rain which was a relief after two nights of storms but it's still very humid. Last night's batch were a little further east and moved up the east coast to Norfolk which is why Ron (and my son who lives in the same area) got the full effect. Just looked at the weather radar online and the next batch is already brewing up over France.

                Regards.

You can't beat stormy weather for the best sunsets, and that one's a beauty. We've missed out on the thunder here and just had torrential rain yesterday. Shame - I love a good electrical storm!
