Stunning. Sunshine under heavy clouds always looks spectacular and you've caught it really well.

Steve - I was watching the thing brewing for 20-30 mins. There were several flashes of lightening and about 15 mins after I took the shot, the heavens opened!

PP wise, I lightened the foreground a little and added some additional 'clarity' to the clouds.
Thanks Paul, I gauge from the duration that your wife was elsewhere at the time. If she's anything like mine, a 2 minutes pause is a lifetime for her, and will simply walk on - anything to do with shopping is a different matter of course!

        That is an absolute corker.

Wonderful light against those dark and brooding clouds. A landscapers dream.

        Superb capture.

I've worked hard to be this grumpy. It hasn't been easy at times but it's worth it.

The thing is this guy does it time and time again - have a browse at his Flickr account and you will see what I mean - it's damn annoying

Sure is a dramatic sky with the threat of a powerful storm, but the wonderful light on the ground makes the whole thing rather special.

Great shot of a very angry sky. I hope you had the brolly handy.

                    Great clouds!
There's only one problem. When I put the 9-18mm on, I always end up taking sky and cloud shots. The lens makes me do it.

Yes, I agree. It's a natural for cloudscapes I think.

You want to try the 7-14 ...there's definitely a skill in using a super wide. At first I found I was merely taking very wide scene shots which are boring. I'm still very much in the learning mode, trying to express depth by including near and distant objects.
