  • Sir David Stirling Memorial

    Hello Everyone,
I was out tonight just before it clouded over at the memorial to David Stirling the founder of the SAS. The statue is located where it looks out over farmland and to the Highlands. I took one on manual which was okay but when I switched to dramatic tone it really came alive. It's the art filter I use the most and on the right subject I think it's brilliant.

Anyone else think it's a great filter?
    Thanks for looking,
    Jim.

I don't have filters Jim but it has done a nice job for you here.

Ever wondered what happens the dark when the light is switched on?

Nice shot. I use dramatic tone and keyline. There great to have.

I don't use them often enough as I forget, dramatic tone has definitely worked well here.

Your use of filters is interesting as many, myself included, more often than not forget they are there. It has added character to an otherwise basic picture. The field of rape-seed also help.

I also like the unusual take from behind the central figure enjoying the view... even if he is now pretty much set in his ways.
It's not what inspires us that is important, it's where the journey takes us.

Thanks everyone for your comments, Phill and Wally I forget about them too, there are so many things that the camera can do that it's hard to remember about them when you're out. I recently discovered the panoramic scene mode which is brilliant too.
            Regards Jim.
