  • More of my pretentious rubbish!

If you want an honest opinion about your photography just ask my daughter. In fact I didn't ask but she told me anyway. Apparently my pictures are "pretentious rubbish, point and shoot snapshots requiring no skill, which anyone could have taken."

I'm glad she held back from telling the real truth, to spare my feelings!

Didn't stop me from visiting the Forest for an hour this morning, though.

    I like them anyway

Isn't it great to have such in-house C&C, on the spot whether you want it or not!

But honestly, I see as much firewood as trees in these pictures John - though I'm not saying they aren't well taken, clearly they are!

I think the 3rd pic looks like a wounded stag.

My daughter's only 11 but I get my fair share of negative comment already! Maybe it's just a daughter thing!

My wife tells me it's common for daughter's to treat there fathers like that - apparently they are practicing for when they have a husband of their own!

Whether intentional or not, the 'stag' is a cracking shot, one with humour.
From a personal perspective I look at it this way, if I get 10% keepers I'm doing well, but in reality my score is much worse. At least yours are well exposed.

Daughters comments to their parents are completely relative to their age John.
There were times I could have happily strangled my two, but now they are the most delightful young women who adore their parents.
We are watching a rather grisly TV show at the moment - "True Detective". Any other forumers who know this show will feel a chill run down their spine when they see your "stag" photo.
One can read a lot of things into a photo.

As has been said they use fathers for husband practice, then things go back to the days when Dad is a close friend and someone to seek advice from.
