  • Cheap macro tubes and flash ring

    Hi,

I can't yet afford to get a dedicated macro lens, but living in China I can try some of the cheaper alternatives. I got (Not from Ebay obviously) this ring flash and these extension tubes.

I need to practice, and these were taken in a low, pollution degraded, morning sun - so the ring flash had to work.

Now edited. It was: E-M5 and mZuiko 40-150mm.

This doesn't compete with a dedicated macro setup, but it's a good way to test one's interest in this type of photography before spending a lot more.

I might try a second-hand dedicated macro lens......need to trawl the Shanghai camera markets for a bargain.

FYI most are uncropped or barely cropped. Here are the originals to show the cropping.
