  • Lauren - my upside down granddaughter

Lauren is one of those children who find it difficult to remain still for more than a few moments at a time and is never happier than when leaping through the air, usually upside down

The EM-1 + 12-40 f2.8 proved to be an excellent tool for capturing some of her antics on a recent trip to see them, using smallest centre point SAF with 6 or 10 fps (depending on what she was up to)

In this short series she is messing about on the trampoline (her favourite place whenever the weather allows)

I liked the shapes her shadow made

here she is about 2/3rds of her way through cartwheeling down their 100+ft garden, made me dizzy just watching her

Clancy is 6 years older and more acrobatic since this picture was taken.
Your acrobatic granddaughter, my athletic grandson would make a good pair, Brian.

tiring to watch isn't it Mark

I read about these sedentary and overweight children then look at our lot who seem to do just about every activity invented and are built like Whippets (mind you, both our lads were and still are sport mad and I was too so I guess it runs in the family)

Just had a bright idea, Brian the elders of some cultures arrange the marriage of their progeny years in advance.
How many cows are to be counted in Lauren's dowry?

It appears my reply came behind yours. Yes Brian, in our decrepitude well may we marvel at where they get all that energy from!

+ But it's wonderful to see them so vibrant and healthy - I'd put it down to good blood lines, wouldn't you say!

She's quite good at that trampolining, isn't she! Not a bad effort with the camera either

Mark, no cows but I could maybe arrange a few Camels (I understand they are a valued form of transport "Down Under" )

The youngest of our tribe, hoop-jumping this time with another fun shadow (might be an interesting project - shadow photography? )

Note the tongue is out as a sign of intense concentration
