  • Slimbridge with the 75-300mm and 60mm

A lovely morning here, so we drove to Slimbridge for my daily walk. I armed myself with the 75-300mm and the 60mm to learn a little bit more about these two lenses. Mostly I used the 75-300mm (1-5) but I did swap to the 60mm macro for some flowers (6).

    1. Keep out of my way!

    2. We found a new path throughout the marsh garden and the only ducklings around

    3. Otter (taken through glass so not great)

    4. Pussy willow flowers:

    5. Back-light flowers (I'm not sure what they are)

    6. Bluebells

I hope these bring some spring sunshine to you!

The swan is nice and creamy without glare, did it do any other tricks?

      Thanks Ulfric.

Well, he got a little bit too close to this swan and his partner's nest!

Lovely thread, good to see Nature in Springtime.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

Thanks Imageryone. Spring is always so special after the long grey (and wet) winter months!

They are great shots, no.2 is hitting the soft spot and hard to pass! :-)

Ever wondered what happens the dark when the light is switched on?

Thanks Conor. I can't ever resist taking a picture even though I already have plenty of duckling pictures!

What a delightful set Amanda - perhaps you should have titled it Swan Lake.

You are up and about quite early it seems ...

Thanks Mark. It is actually called swan lake - see Slimbridge Map which has our usual route marked:

We were actually there before it opened and we've never done that before! We were glad we were though as it really was very busy by lunchtime.

Thanks Chevvy. We were about 10m away and he was steaming across the lake!

Lovely light on the wings on that first swan shot, very nice.

Your flower is a Red Campion, I'd say.

                        Thanks John.

My grandmother was brilliant at recognising flowers but it's not my strongest skill!
