  • Colourful Social Housing

    Built out of old containers.

Wasn't sure if I should crop the gates out or not. When I did it seems to lose some depth.

      Re: Colourful Social Housing

Imagine trying to find your front door there while you were drunk (then waking up and looking out the window while you were hungover)!!

I don't mind the gates at all, but the left hand light spoils the symmetry for me completely - do these planners have no consideration for photographers at all?

Well if you accept the view of the tabloids (which I do not) most of Europes population growth is nowadays delivered in containers, rather than from women. There is then a certain appropriateness to this kind of housing. But I do wonder about condensation and warmth, someone must have done a lot of work.

Interesting shot - did you try a straight face-on approach? - filling the frame with squares and windows.

                    Get in closer man! ;-)
Make something of the bold colours and shapes on offer. And wait for some nice lighting, but watch for the riff-raff!

There are lots of images there. Interesting as the scene is, getting in closer will reveal loads more other opportunities for images.
