  • Fruity Lichen

Just started playing with focus stacking in Elements:

    Podetia by johndal, on Flickr

I tried a version with the "base" of the lichen in focus but it looked weird, so I took out the images with that bit in focus. I may have a further play to get all of the cups in focus.

Todays task is to ID this specimen. Some sort of Cladonia, but not the common one.

They look like fruit pastilles, the dark red ones.
    What did they taste like?

Too small to tell. You'd need a hundred of them to make a fruit pastille. Reindeer may know.

a good, well detailed macro, very close focus (or a big crop?)

Cheers Brian, taken with 60mm almost at 1:1. It's a small compositional crop, maybe 30% removed.
