  • Bells Beach Victoria

This is Bells Beach on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria.
Renowned as one of the top surfing breaks in Australia, the largest surfing competition in Aus is held here every Easter.
The surf was very placid this day but you can see the lengthy breaks forming.

The Surf Coast (as it is known) attracts young surfers from all over the world.
They travel around the country in brightly coloured vans. This one took my eye - no doubt with some "happy" produce on board!

And taking a photo for a reminder of Happy Days!
Oh to be that age again!

Can't say I've ever hung five at Bells Beach, Lyn ...

And I'm wondering what the roof of that van looked like after they got off (the roof! )

That beach looks very appealing on a cold March night here Lyn. I am not sure I was ever that young and carefree. These days I would be worrying about what was happening to the paintwork on my car.

Thanks for looking Mark. It was a pity the surf wasn't up, but there you go!
They really look after photographers at this spot - there was artificial green carpet laid at strategic spots on the cliff tops - I presume to give the tripods more stability!

Hi Ron, thanks for commenting. The kids made me smile - nice to think that "travel and have fun" culture is still out there!
