    These blighters don't hang around. They perch on the bamboo for about one second before flitting deeper inside or off to another tree. So this was a quick shot, hoping I could get the lens on target, and relying on the autofocus, before it vanished. This is the best I could do in about an hour of watching but it isn't as sharp as I would have hoped for.

    Looking at his eye, this is pretty sharp, just needs some playing in editing to bring out the detail.
    Agree about how fast they move, at this time of year it is all about getting enough food to survive in these short days.
    The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.
