I tweaked the contrast a bit but it really did look pretty much like this. Could have done with some nicer trees though. Must get out more as this was our back garden.

    Arrrgh, burnie eyes!

brilliant in both senses of the word, you needed a tired old Crow wending its way home to complete the scene (a bit of creative PP maybe )

There have been some beautiful sunsets lately. Fantastic colour.
      Conor.
Ever wondered what happens the dark when the light is switched on?

That's a knockout sunset Phil. The silhouette shows it off brilliantly.

            Re: stripey sunset

Thanks everyone it was just a grab shot really as I'd not planned to go out that morning and by the time I'd noticed the sky then it was too late.

As for the lonely bird Brian how about this.

            Although I suspect it's a pigeon not a crow.

            Here's a couple more.

Didn't need to pp the birds in, managed to shoot them in situe. Didn't post them before as they were a bit fuzzy in places. Nothing like milking a photo shoot is there.

              Re: stripey sunset

              Hi Phill,

Nice one , I really do like a silhouette with a sunrise / sunset, can I ask when you took these?

Was it 3 weeks ago tomorrow morning, only reson I ask is I was up at Crich stand for the sunrise and got the similar or same sky. You have also jogged the old grey matter that I forgot to post a shot. Mainly because I did some exposure bracketing and not got around to see what to do next with them in elements.

So I must post a view of the lighthouse in Crich which is as far away from the coast of England as you can get. I am sure the light no longer revolves at night. Costs I suppose.

              Ian

Thanks Ian. It was Sunday the 5th of Jan as you guessed. I'd love to see your shots of Crich on the same day they must be spectacular.
