  • One From the Bay

After the gales of the past two days I decided to walk off the Christmas excesses with a trip down to Findhorn Bay. This old log has been around for some time now (not a product of the storm) and I liked the way it was 'pointing' towards the sunset.

Lovely colours in the sky and that tree stump would look great in my fire!!
      joking aside, nice shot Steve.

Ever wondered what happens the dark when the light is switched on?

That works for me, almost like the calm after the storm and I like the implied track from the stump to the water, almost as if its a sea monster that has dragged itself ashore.

In this mood it could maybe benefit from being a bit darker (but that's only to satisfy my rather strange imagination )

The log makes a good foreground to a lovely sunset.

            Good composition and very striking.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

I like this Steve, the position of the log and the colour in the sky are superb

Hi Brian - it took me 5 stops of ND grad and a blip of flash on the foreground to get it this light!! I agree with you though, a slightly darker foreground does suit and I have tweaked my Flickr image accordingly. Thank you.

And further thanks to all for all of the other comments.
