With a diet like that it's no wonder that you Aussies are giving our cricketers a battering in the Ashes and putting us back in our plaice. We're staring to flounder and it looks like we've had our chips for this series but hopefully we can net a few more runs as our batsmen are dab hands and never give up tope. But if we do lose, next year we will be angling for revenge!
You guys are still smarting from the 2006-2007 whitewash and looks like it could happen again, John! hehe!

Beer Batter ????????????????????????????????? that's like putting water in Single Malt
Beer is for washing the food down, not as an ingredient
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

Hard to beat the traditional English fish and chips Mark. If I'm not mistaken your chips are frozen!! NEVER!! I'm starving too and would happily tuck into them anyway, ha!

Haven't you guys learned anything about cooking fish 'n chips - it's obvious that you know as little about batter as batting!

Conor, You are right, the chips we get at most F 'n C shops are frozen as is the substance they batter as "fish" which is aquaculture muck from SE Asia.
But there are still a few places where, as Lyn (Floribunda) observed, you get the real deal. This was one of them.
