  • After The Storm.

Two interesting natural phenomena that I saw yesterday and couldn't resist trying to capture.

About thirty minutes later looking in the opposite direction.

    Thanks for looking.

Great light, Peter, I can't promise to match that on Friday!

Excellent shots Peter, caught the light nicely.

<nerd>Just a hint of "Alexanders Dark Band" in that first one, the darker area between the two halos of a double halo.</nerd>

Two good contrasting shots, Peter - have to admit I had missed the second halo completely until I read John's post. Note to self - must concentrate!

Thanks John I missed that as I miss a lot of things these days.

FWIW I also missed "Alexander's Ragtime Band" but that was due to being born 34 years too late.

                Thanks all.

What a contrast between the two images both good in there own right.
Great capture of the rainbow. everytime I see a rainbow I'm either driving or without camera.

10 nerd points to this man.

Many people fail to notice the secondary rainbow is colour inverted, which illuminates it on the outside and so creating Alexander's band.
