Inspired by Paul's flower shots I tried a few. I pushed the highlights and shadows to increase the contrasts in many cases. What do you think did I overdo it?

They look great and not overdone at all, you have retained all the highlight detail in the whites and the colours look vibrant but not oversaturated.

They all look fine to me Phil.
Crocosmia has to be one of the hardest flowers to photograph close up and get it all in focus.

I think you posted one shot twice - should there be one more than we can see?
If I have any niggle - a couple are on the dark side on my monitor, but apart from that the colour is lovely and the subjects very attractive.

Hmm definitely not intended and I hadn't noticed either 
It's interesting you say a couple are a bit dark. Maybe that's me not having a calibrated monitor. I might look into that.
Here is the missing shot. It was meant to follow the other one with the hover fly.
