  • A little wine... and I try anything... :)

    Hi All

Had a lovely suprise from a mate on here today (thanks Andy) which the wife and I are currently enjoying and have almost completed, and decided to have a go at taking some shots with the FL-50 mounted external to the E-3. So, put some seed down, donned the 70-300mm on the E-3, and within a few minutes spotted a juvenile Dunnock in the fir tree and as usual, the Field Mouse came out to see what was for dinner.

Here's a selection of the results.

Have to say, the Field Mouse has become incredibly tame, these shots are full frame and not cropped. I actually sat outside the patio doors, the flash was connected via the 2m cable and was mounted on one of my stands only 2' from the him, and I managed at one point to get close enough that the 70-300mm wouldn't focus as I was too close!!

Thanks Adrian, appreciate the comments. It sure does, I was well pleased with the results to be honest, and suprised too!

I am popping up to a mates private bird feeding station buried deep off the public path somewhere in the Welsh hills early tomorrow morning, and am now considering if I should take the FL-50 et al for some trial shots... hmmmmm.....

I'm off to Northumberland for the week so hope for good weather.

Should get to seal island etc so am looking to try for some good pic's. See if I can do as well as you with the puffins!
