  • RAF Waddington Air Show

The air show was at the beginning of the month, but I went away the same day. This week has been my chance to look through the images. It was a very hot day with hardly a cloud in the sky only a lot of Blue. When I have time I will probably change the sky on a few to include some white cloud.

    3, RAF Red Arrows

4, F-16AM Royal Newtherlands Air Force

5, SAAB JAS 39C Gripen 211 Tactical Sqn Czech Air Force

6, Air Show What Air Show

    Thanks for looking
    Derek

Perfect visibility on the day seems every time I go to an Airshow it mizzles or is hazy.

All super images, Derek, but the first has that oomph! for me.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

I am lucky enough to live only a short distance from Robin Hood airport the former RAF Finningley where the Vulcan is based. Although this year I have been elsewhere when it has took off.

3 F-16 displayed Dutch, Turkish & Belgian a bit overkill. The best display was the Dutch he kept the display really tight right in front of the crowd line.

I too have been to many a airshow when the displays have been toned down due to low cloud base and dismal weather. I know it may seem like moaning but I would have like a bit of cloud to break up the background.

All super images, Derek, but the first has that oomph! for me.
I normally get a bit bored of the acrobatic displays but the pilot in this Extra 300 really entertained the crowd.

I enjoy seeing the Vulcan fly when ever I can. I grew up in Lincoln so they were a everday sight. Then suddenly they were gone.
How long it is sutainable I'm not sure. It takes a lot of money to maintain and fly. Those four Rolls Royce Olympus engines are thirtsy.

A few more from the airshow.
The Vulcan is always a great aircraft to photograph, I like its smooth lines.
