This is my local Harbour at sunrise with the tide out. I took this a few months ago but couldn't get the processing how I wanted it. So here goes all C&C welcome

I know those photos that drive you mad trying to get the processing right. I think you've done a good job with this one though, Alf, great shot.

Nice contrast and range of tones. In colour I'm sure the contrails would irritate, in B&W they seem to enhance the composition. Good choice.

The contrails were one of the issues we get a lot in the morning round here.
        Glad you like it John.

I didn't like this when it was first posted, but I couldn't say why, so I kept my mouth shut. Having revisited, I have changed my mind and like the processing of the sands, and the sky. I think it's the strip of land in the centre which, maybe just maybe, could use a little lightening.

Thanks for the comment Stephen I have had a similar process with this shot.

I will look at the lightening that area as something similar has been suggested to me elsewhere and I think the bottom right needs lightened a little.

I have to agree with John that in color the contrails would likely irritate. So in this case I must admit that B &W suits this image.

It's a nice photo with lots of gorgeous tones, a mild amount of selective Dodging would add so much more to it.

Yes, I think this has improved it.
