  • I'm a sucker for the gulls

Just three random shots from the anchorage in Dartmouth. I have a couple of sequences as well from this shoot, but a paucity of sunshine has left my laptop too impoverished to process them.

This one because I like the texture

This because it seems to epitomise a gull

And this because it could have been so good, with the focus just a little further forward, ah well

Nice shots Nick. With all the juvenile gulls around at the moment they are really good subject with lots of contrast in the plumage. Don't be sorry that you feel a sucker for gulls. I love them too.

      Thankyou Peter

I'm pleased with how these turned out, given the very flat light, overcast conditions, and rain.

Me too, I luv em as well , nice set you have there Nick. They are a very versatile species of bird and will adapt to all type of habitat, will feed on most things and always let you know when you are too close!

Gulls are such characters - and always seem to me to be just that little bit demented.

          Nice shots Nick!

Yes Hugh, they are. My dog and I stroll along the beach every day and, out of nowhere, gulls suddenly appear and taunt Blade (my dog) by calling out and deliberately landing near him and taking off as he approaches. It seems to be a game that the gulls love to play.
