Following Huw's example of including a route tracker map for his Chiltern (UK) walk I downloaded the Orux Maps app' and gave it a whirl
on the Sunrise Track in the Warby Range that forms the Western border of the township of Wangaratta, Northeast Victoria.
The arial view from my 2011 Yak shoot shows a section of the Range stretching south from the town.

This is my first attempt at using the tracker showing my photo way points,
but I haven't yet figured how to get more detail such as Huw's Garmin mapper displays.

As my walk was in a wilderness area it is unlikely that the trails I followed have been mapped by Google.
The climb to Waypoint 09 is steep and challenging but levels out at the summit and descends more gradually on the return leg.
According to tracker data the walk was 10.3km (approx 6 miles) and took me a leisurely 3hrs 30min. The highest point was 430 metres.

A useful feature is that by using the phone to take photos at each way point, the picture can be tagged to that point and saved to the phone's gallery.

As I am no great fan of smart phone images the pictures posted here were shot with the XZ-1
These tracks get little use as country people tend to be more interested in hot dogs, meat pies, kangaroos and "footy".
I had the Range to myself and met no one on the 3½ hour solo walk which is part of my 'get fit' strategy!
4.

As I wandered along I had a sense that I was being watched by groups of Grass Trees that have an eerie sentience about them.
Now I have shown similar shots taken on my previous walks in the Warbies so I hope you won't find these too boring.
Unfortunately the scenery is much the same throughout the range.

Tracks are quite rough and narrow in places.
Although there are signs and markers where tracks intersect or diverge it is still necessary to hold concentration
as in this terrain it is only too easy to get confused and "bushed".
6.

At one point on the return leg I stopped to make a photo waypoint after which I took a wrong turn and found myself heading back on the track I was on.
7.

There is only one spot where there's a view to the east and the Great Dividing Range on the horizon, but it was too hazy to be seen today.
