Recently I spent a pleasant hour or so taking photographs with my familly on Cherhill Down. I'd like to claim the credit for these, but I can't! They were all taken by my wife, Debbie, with her newly aquired E510. (See recent thread "She's Hooked") I think she's done rather well for a first attempt at close-ups..........
.......in fact, I think she's done rather too well for my liking!

Be afraid, very afraid, that your E3 is not prised from your hands on some dubious pretext, with the words "Oh you can use the 510"
Crackin' pictures

Fortunately, I think (hope!) the E3 would be just a little too big and heavy for my nearest and dearest to enjoy using it.

What can I say......she's done far, far better than I in the first attempt. Congratulations to her. They are all up to the standard of most postings on this forum. I particlarly like the second shot for its clarity and the last shot for its composition. Looks like there shall be some rivalry in the household now.
Hmmmm John....you should look out .... competition from the fairer sex ..... She is doing so well, I have always said "it isn't the camera that takes the picture, it is the person behind the camera that does".
No 3 is a crop from image taken with the 14-42mm set at 42mm.
Nos 2 & 4 were taken with 70-150mm set at 150mm with high quality doublet close-up lens fitted.

I think your wife has the makings of a very accomplished photographer. You had better raise your game Zuiko.
I think you are right, Malcolm. If she ever takes a technical interest in the medium she could be awesome. At the moment she is happy to tell me what she wants to photograph, I set the camera controlls and she just snaps away. Composition and an eye for detail seem to come sickeningly easy to her. The reason? She is a very talented artist, mainly in watercolours, gouache and encaustics. Guess this proves that photography is art!
