  • Great Chalford Manor

The most charming and authentic Mediaeval Manor house I have visited and with delightful gardens. Unfortunately although a NT property as it has the donor in residence, understandably, no photography is allowed inside the property. Unfortunately the weather was rather dull for most of the shots.

The view of the main entrance from the drive:

Views of the rear of the main wing, this used to be part of an enclosed courtyard:

View of the donor residence wing:

    A few garden views:

Chevvy, I visit Wiltshire twice a year to stay with In-laws at Heddington so I try to take advantage of photo opportunities when in the area.

            Re: Great Chalford Manor

Looks a lovely house, IMHO these Mediaeval manors are much nicer than the grand edifices of later centuries. A nice series, thanks for showing - sadly I'm never anywhere near Wiltshire

ps - that's not overcast, see my soon to be posted post on weather for what proper overcast is .

                Re: Great Chalford Manor

Charming building and delightful gardens. I'd love to visit one day. I've no problem with the NT restricting photography inside their buildings so long as the allow it outside.
