  • T FORDS at the Red Hill Show

On the spur of the moment I caught the coach to Melbourne on Good Friday and hence to
the Mornington Peninsula where yesterday Sandra and I spent a leisurely day at the Red Hill Agricultural Show.
The XZ-1 was kept busy all day, it was all I brought with me and I will let the pictures tell their own story with more later.

In past days in the " other life " as a vehicle electrician, I had the mispleasure to build a new wiring loom for a Model "T". Not easy as the customer wanted
" Totally Original " and the law stated that rubber covered wire was obsolete and dangerous. We finished up sleeving all the visible wires.

That model was not as nice as either of these, often wonder where it got to.
This is the way to present Veteran cars, all shine and polish.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

Nice car, great shots. Ts were produced in many countries - were any made in Australia?

img1 and Stephen - Thanks for commenting, and yes Stephen, T's were first built in Australia at Geelong, Victoria in 1925.
In 1928 the factory switched to the Model A and was followed by the Ford V8 in 1932.

          Ooooooh! So cute Mark!
They always conjure up a romantic picture to me, but perhaps the reality of bumping along dusty roads isn't quite so romantic.
It is always lovely to see them cared for and in such good condition.

These old buses have a huge cult following don't they, Lyn.
They belong to a bygone age that in this "modern" world we can only look back upon with nostalgia.

Thanks Tom, the XZ-1 has become a 'physical' part of my dress code, it hangs off my belt in a neat little pouch with my phone.

Yes Alf, XZ1 is a liberating little gizmo isn't it. I now use the big cams only when I need more reach and fast zoom changes.

I needed the E-3 to do a better job of the stunt-bike riders in my other post, "XZ-1 ... Pushing it !"
