I don't know if it has a specific name but it is quite easy to achieve. The procedure has been shown several times in various photography magazines. You mount the camera on a tripod and take multiple shots of someone in different positions. Then you arrange the shots in photoshop, with each shot on a separate layer, and then (for each layer) using the a brush tool with black selected as the forground and white as the background you can erase part of the layer to reveal the layer below (where the person is). Working up the layers you reveal another "person" at every layer.

Sounds a bit confusing but is really quite simple.

      Hi,

Just a quick reply as I'm just back from Islay, I'm knackered and need a kip lol..

This type of shot is normally called a multiplicity, just as Steve discribes however I would add that you need to do this in manual mode as the camera doesn't always expose correctly for each shot in any other mode.

There are many names for this but the one that springs to mind is "digital manipulation". Like a good action film if you have seen one you have seen them all.

Digital manipulation is a generic phrase that can be applied to all forms of digital post production work. Just tweaking levels can be interpreted as "digital manipulation".

Hey folks... don't feed the trolls eh! I am not too sure that we will see our judge any further.
