  • A very fine drop.

Not far from where we live is the Langhorne Creek Wine District.
Always worth a drive - the scenery is beautiful and they make my very favourite red wine - now becoming a little hard to find. Malbec.
The wineries are set on the flood plain of the river, so have rich soil and abundant water most of the time.

I love this sign. These Aussies do look as though they could drink the lot don't they?

Most of our wineries these days grow roses on the borders of the vines so that if disease appears it will show first on the roses.

A view of the vineyard, showing the Bremer River line of gums in the background and an original hand-hewn post and rail fence.

An informative and well taken set, Lyn.

I see on the sign that you have clearly cropped yourself out of that intemperate company!

Nice ones Lyn. We have a wine and roses festival here in the Canberra wine region in October - all wineries having open days a special food served.

        You are a trick Mark!
Frank Potts, one of the wineries founders, was a very keen amateur photographer and at the moment there is an exhibition of his work in the cellar door. All B & W of course, taken with a Box Brownie, and just beautiful work. I wish you could see it.

Hi Terry, we have been watching some of the celebrations on TV for Canberra's 100th year. The city looks wonderful.
Wine and roses are a perfect match! I may have to come your way in October!
