  • By the moonlight

I decided to go out and take some pictures by the moonlight last night. Here are the fits two I have processed. I also tried a bit of orb spinning but I need practice. I did consider going to the lakes but it was mistier that way.

This is my first location the beach again.

The I move along the coast to Whitehaven pier where the fisherman were wondering what I was up to.

Very interesting. I have to say I think that second shot would be terrific even without the spinning orbs.
What did you use as the twirly light?

Great shots Alf, I too prefer the last 3 - I like the contrast of smooth water and skies against the crisp detail, very good

I love the ones without the orb spinning, does the reddish glow come from Sellafield :-(

The first one - 183 sec exposure? Did you need a filter? Was it fully dark?

That shot was taken at 11:49 pm the rest were taken just before or later. I didnt get home from work until 11 pm.

I could maybe have done with an ND grad for the shots including/towards the moon.

Those are great--I particularly like the first one of the second set, looks quite alien to me! And I'm impressed by anyone who can go out and shoot at midnight, too.

Very clever, like them all, especially the orb shots.

I'm assuming these are very long exposures, but the foreground rocks look so good I thought maybe some additional light had been added with a flash perhaps?

Really good moonlight shots - should be proud of those.

Personally I can do without the spinning orbs.
