My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is without,
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the trout -
A-chasing the wild trout, and eating the roe
My heart's in the Highlands wherever I go ... (Anonymous! )
Tasmania look to be a paradise for anglers, walkers and photographers. It's wonderful that we can enjoy it from the other side of the world through your pictures.

Your pictures of Tassie warm the cockles of my heart - especially after the dreary day we have just endured here in Hertfordshire. Wonderful, rich colours.

Thank you Annie. We had beautiful weather right up to the last day when it rained as we drove onto the Bass Strait ferry heading home.
You're pushing your luck there, Lyn - just as well your states are vast. I wouldn't like to risk a post like that to someone in the next county! Regards, Ann1e
I don't take offence, Annie ... she by her own admission has yet to visit Tasmania in November, (if they let her in! )
"I would advise anyone visiting Oz for the first time to see Tasmania first."
After South Australia you mean? Tasmania isn't really part of Oz - just a big island off the southern coast.
Many of us are starting to feel that Britain isn't (or shouldn't be) a part of Europe - just a big island off the west cooast!

Perhaps in the same way that older gen Australians, brought up to see themselves as colonials, Children of the British Empire until its collapse, struggled with the reality of us being part of Asia.
