  • Under my cloak.

    or upon reflection.

Been doing manual focus only with my ZD lenses and E-M5 for a few weeks.I think I'm getting more keepers now than I used to with auto focus on the E5.Just got to crack moving subjects now.
    All the best

Brilliant photos, excellent lighting Andy, you can't beat manual focus old school in this digital age, but it works and works well.

    Thanks for sharing.

    All the best.

Are you using live view to focus, Andy?

Super detailed shots. Owing to the total absence of super-telephoto m4/3 primes the delights of MF with the E-M5 are becoming familiar with several owners. The EVF/LV magnification and the Keyline filter are making accurate MF almost an everyday occurrence.

              Hi

This through the viewfinder but using manual focus assist which magnifies the viewfinder when you turn the focus ring.Coupled with IS on which stabilizes the image in the viewfinder it works a treat.

              Thanks all for you comments.

Fantastic shots Andy. You've certainly cracked manual focus.

Interesting that the latest automated "bells and whistles" camera also provides a means of enhancing (IMHO) what was becoming the lost art of manual focus.

Thanks for sharing the pics and the technique.

Seems the more I learn, the more Must Have the E5 is. I have been using the live view on the E330 to manual focus, and that is very good too, but no IS.

I love the shots Andy, great technique. Makes me think my selling of the 50-200 may have been a bit hasty

                      Thanks.

I think it would work even better with the SWD version of this lens as it has a mechanical coupled focus ring. The ring on the Mk1 is a little light and easy to move.No funds to change though.
Also getting great results using the 12-60,just feels so good with the tighter focus ring(almost sounds rude).

Not been frequent here of late so a belated comment. Love that first one in particular; a great pose and super light.
