  • Cosmeston Lakes

We actually had some sunshine today - we've had precious little of it in 2013.

And I took some colour photos for a change.

These are from a trip to Cosmeston Lakes, near Penarth, this afternoon.

I spotted this couple walking along the boardwalk surrounded by birds. Unfortunately I was still in landscape shooting mode and had the camera set to f8 and 1/100th sec so some of the birds are a bit blurred. I suppose it adds a sense of movement though?

So much colour, and so unfamilliar! These are certainly a welcome change. I love the last one, with the birds.

The colour works a treat, and that last one is a real corker.

Thanks all. It certainly was good to have some sunshine to photograph! We've returned to grey skies today and wet and windy weather for the weekend apparently.

All very nice but no4 is really exceptional. I admit it brought a lump to my throat looking at these two people rich in years enjoying such a simple pleasure.
No Wii's iphones, ipads, xboxes, facetube or any of all that stuff. Just them and nature. Beautiful.

Thanks Jon. Funny what we see in things, isn't it? You were thinking nice tranquil scene; I was thinking Alfred Hitchcock.

Thanks Chevy. Could do with some sun right now. It was definitely a question of making the most of it while it lasted!
