  • Wilson Silver Cross Coachbuilt Pram

This is a pain photo ... because of the weather I had to take it indoors and then delete all the "dross" around it and in between each of the spokes Thank goodness for great editing software and a stylus and Intous pad

I need a photo for adverts to make some more money out of the pram from rentals for Babies at Weddings #: Christenings and other family events

These old prams are high maintenance as the chrome takes lots of hours cleaning and polishing then after they have been indoors a day or two to be very DRY, I coat the chrome with Vaseline This protects them from the damp making "orange moth" on them

However, I have never got into Winchester - a 3 mile walk from home, as we get so many who stop and say "MY Mum had one of them for me; Can I have a push etc., " and after 2 miles we have to turn for home to feed the baby riding in it

Did your Mum have one of these for you ?

    I do not know.

Mum had one like this, the best thing I remember about it was the space under the mattress which could be used for carrying shopping or baby stuff.

You just lifted the last 'board' and slid the stuff in.

Of course, being a family of ten, we had to have a big tray underneath as well ....

10 is that inc. parents ? Yes this dows have a chrome shopping tray to fit under - but it is the model after the "footwell" you speak of

Strange really, in those Pram days, families would have a pram, but no car - today its a car and no pram

Yes, that includes parents. Although we did get up to 11 in all when mum's mum died and we 'inherited' mum's sister for the duration.

Luckily I was the oldest, so got a bit of leeway.

Oh, and we all lived in a 3 bedroomed council house. The outhouse(washroom) and living rooms were used as extra bedrooms in the end.

          Cool pram.
Personally I'd edit out the dull yellow & blue smudgy thing from inside the pram too.

Yes, I must have travelled a few miles in one of these many many years ago,
I don't actually remember being in it ( although I can remember what happened years ago better than what happened ten minutes ago now ) but I remember mum still using it for my younger brother.

                Regards.

she looked at me and said "It's official. I hate your camera. It's just so amazing and perfect I want one!"
