    Hi

    My turn now.

This is my first update for some time, travelling to the Andaman islands between India and Burma. Even though the main purpose was fishing I brought my photo gear with me. Below are twelve pictures from December 2012 documenting the daily life in Village #1 on Havelock island (the villages have no names, only numbers). Village #1 is a small but typically Indian village, virtually free from tourists. It has all the ingredients you would be looking for; fishing boats, a jetty, a fish market, a busy street with small shops, loose dogs, goats ands cows, rickshaws, dirt, garbage, rice paddys, a Hindu temple and friendly people who will happily let you take pictures.

So good to see images of places one knows they will never see. Love the three wheeled bike shot especially.

    Happy New Year.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

Nice set very different from anything I would take. I love the way that dog is looking at the fish head.

The fishing was great. We fished from boat, mostly spinning and fly-fishing and some trolling between fishing spots.

The main species we targeted was Giant Trevally. In addition to Giant Trevally we caught other Trevallys (Blue Finned, Jack Trevally) Tuna (Yellow Finned , Albacore, Bonito), Dog Tooth Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Barracuda, Mahi-mahi, Green Jobfish, Rainbow Runner, various Snappers, various Groupers and Garfish. Not to mention other species which names are unknown to me.

I could upload photos however the photos are not taken with E- equipment (due rough weather, wind and rain) so I will upload them elsewhere. I'll can send a link later if you like.

Lovely set Tord, very atmospheric, thanks. I particularly like nos 10 and 11 - the rainy bike and the fisherman with the flaming oil derrick.

              Ciao ... John

Great images Tord, a fascinating insight into the lives of people I am unlikely to witness for myself - thank you.

Some great shots. Difficult to pick a favourite, there are so many that I like, but if pushed I would possibly go for No 6 - very simple but very effective and atmospheric.

What an unusual and really interesting set Tordan Sounds like a very ordered place to live.

The stand out shot for me is the wee dog, watching the fishes head, about to be cleaved
