  • My 12 from 2012

This is a great idea for threads.

I managed to sell almost all my 4/3 kit to you good people and swap it for a m4/3 setup in April / May. So an interesting year for me photographically getting used to the new kit.

    Here's a monthly selection

The year got of to a decent start, weather wise. This is the Alcan Bulk Discharge terminal at Blyth.

The Alcan Smelter and polluted beach on a dirty day. I went looking for this shot, it's taken from beside a travellers camp and it's an all-round dodgy spot.

A perfect March days bouldering at Shaftoe Crags.

I really struggled to find anything decent in my April shots. Half of the month was spent abroad with just a cameraphone. This is allI could come up with really:

Coming across these two sheep was a bright spot in May

"There's many times I've travelled, a hundred miles or more... by johndal, on Flickr

June was a highlight of the year - I spent a week on Mingulay in beautiful weather with the climbing club & my daughter. I picked this shot of her perched on top of a 300ft cliff, totally unconcerned by the huge exposure.

A shot snatched from the jaws of a bad weather day

A trip to Bruges in August. Guess what the weather was like!

Another trip to the NW Coast of Scotland in Spetember, we missed the long sunny spell

Despite the wet summer , the Fungi weren't all that brilliant - here's some Porcelain Fungus all nice and wet in the October rains

The high spot of November was an excellent day at Spadeadam with the NE OLY contingent. The autumn colour this year was really good, so here's some leaves.

This month has been a right old washout. Here's a one taken during an outbreak of sunn

    Sheep with sunshades ?
You certainly got around this year, some good memories indeed.
The one shot that stands out for me is the snowfield, works for me.
The picture tells the story, great when you have a bad memory.DW.

Yet another stunning set from 2012 John; the sheep made me laugh, the fungi reflection and lane images are stunning.

                Nice ones John as expected.

Can you please explain the sheep if you know why they have shades on. Could it be a gang thing

                All the best for 2013.

The sheep are sponsored, like F1 drivers

Actually, they're to provide some relief from clouds of headflies which drive the sheep berserk, with very nasty consequences (for the sheep).

John, for Horses we have "veils" made of net But its nice that your sheep are protected from "daggy maggots" about their eyes .. prey tell, do you do the same at the other end ?

Another brilliant dozen, this forum's got talent!

My favourite is November. That reflection, blended with the floating leaves, is pure class.

I have to say that yours is a fabulous presentation, John. Obviously you've had a photographically rewarding year.

Now you have just 24 hours left to add one more for the road !
