  • 12-50mm on Macro

I've just had a wee walk around the estate doing the
"Monarch of all I survey" bit and took a couple of images with the 12-50mm on macro.
I've posted an example for you to have a look at. It's a 75% crop from a handheld image with the 12-50mm on 'macro'. Image stabilisation turned off.

These 4/3rds and m4/3rds cameras are rubbish!
    Aren't they?

Yeah rubbish... I'm hoping there might be some snow or something left at home when i get back to try out the same combo, not had much opportunity yet since I got the OM-D just over a month ago. Fingers crossed. James

Jon, what a impossibly difficult to re create image it is superb and would be splendid on a Christmas Card LURVE IT ...

btw what a *rap camera and lens you have

ps ... can you post some landscapes showing just the wonderful untrodden snow with crystals glinting like diamonds in snow ...

one thing I really REALLY miss is driving up the mountain to Van Thor at the nearly end of my journey, and the glinting diamonds on the snow from the car headlights ... Oh I wish I did not have knacckered knees and could still ski

even some snow here would be nice ...

That looks great. I must admit I haven't experimented with the 12-50mm in macro mode yet but I'm glad I hung on to it as more and more users are saying what a good allrounder it is.

By the way, here's a link to some more absolutely rubbish OM-D photos taken by someone calling himself a Pro. Some with the 12-50mm too. Shouldn't be allowed :

Hello Jon, totally agree about the quality of the macro on the 12-50 lens these pebbles are on Weybourne beach in Norfolk. For a kit lens it is pretty good and saves carrying another lens in the bag. That said I am after the new 60mm lens when funds allow because of the wide aperture!
