Hi David,
Nice picture. I however believe it is a Great Egret and not a white morph of the Great Blue Heron (sometimes referred to as Great White Heron) which is an American species with vagrant records in Western Europe but never recorded as far east as Greece.

The pictures where taken during my last visit to the archipelago of Los Roques. Los Roques is a national park, about 1000 sq km large, located 150 km north from Caracas. The place is famous for its coral reefs, flats and mangrove swamps teeming with marine wildlife. I could post some more pictures if you like.
