  • Panorama test

Made up from 10 handheld shots, early evening sun going down behind me.
Those wondering what the small black dot is just slightly to the right of center in the sky it's a bird (seagull) I believe.

Nice example of stitched panorama. What package did you use?

      Hi PeterD,

Yeah I'm quite happy with the results, the stitch was done using Photoshop CS3 on a iMac.

        Re: Panorama test

I use Panorama Plus from Serif. I am quite pleased with that package.
Did you stitch two rows vertical and 5 horizontal to make the panorama? I use hand-held too and try and ensure overlaps at easily defined points.

        Cheers

          Re: Panorama test

What I did was take 10 shots in portrait with lots of over lapping and let photoshop do the merge in automode, Photoshop CS3 does a much better job than CS2 ever did in this mode, Adobe made big improvements in this area of CS3. Then after the final merge was complete I then flatten the image and do the crop. I found that is was better to flatten first then do your cropping or straightening of the image after, if you don't I find the seams will mess up.

Thanks for that. I have always tried to do it the 'hard way' by selecting my frames carefully. I shall try your method.

              Re: Panorama test

I'm by no means an expert on this and I haven't done many pano's but of the ones I have tried doing this method seems to be working decent. I think my next attempt will be of something a little more scenic, if I can find some time in my busy schedule to get out of the city when the (sun isn't so bright and high in the sky like early morning, or evening), where there is lots of great stuff for Panorama.

Prince Edward Island is a beautiful place in the summer months (though short summers) red soil and lots of green with trees & farming crops etc.

If you try this method I'd be interested in seeing your results.
