Nothing lucky about the pictures though, you can take all the credit for those! You must be very happy.

Three lovely pictures of a wonderful area and the autumn is a great time to visit. In fact on picking up your thread I had an immediate feeling of deja vu - we were touring the Lake District in September 2009 and your first image is very similar to one of the pix I posted at that time. To be honest with you, I can't remember exactly where it is (we live some 200 miles south) but we were obviously taking the same road and although not taken from exactly the same spot, I immediately recognised it.
I hope you don't mind me showing it again on your thread - the autumnal colours are much richer in your shot, it being later in the year.

Thanks everyone....the Lakes are a superb location.
I'm kicking myself for not getting the foreground in focus in No 2...its at Friar's Crag by the Derwent near Keswick - supposedly one of the best viewpoints and very easy to reach.
Ann1e thanks for posting yours - your shot must be just a few yards from where I was standing....we walked to the lake and then all the way around because we couldn't park anywhere near...its Grasmere by the way. The conditions are so similar....a few more leaves on the foreground tree in yours....we have a similar compositional eye.
