  • Invermoriston Autumn

It was a dull damp day today, but some of the folk from the camera club were heading for Invermoriston, so I thought I'd go and meet them just to get out of the house.
The colours on the trees turned out to be lovely, I was glad I made the effort - here are a few examples:

The Folly taken from under the old bridge framed by the 'new' bridge

Moving closer - the rocks were really slippy

    and a bit closer...

From the top of the 'new' bridge

Taken from beyond the Folly looking back upstream

    Thanks for looking

That's right, Iain, make me jealous again and break my heart a little more!

BTW Fabulous pictures, but you already know that - right?

Can I still say "fabulous" or is it a bit naff these days? Anyway, you know what I mean.

Whereabouts in Scotland are you? Duncan (Wanderer) mentioned a Scottish meet at Oban for January - is that too far?

I am down in Annan, Iain. Oban is certainly within travelling distance - I just need to get my finger out and get motivated

Iain I love the colours of the trees and some of the aspects - particularly in 2,3 and 4 are very effective. Great images.

Ian what a lovely set of autumnal images you make me feel quite jealous.
Are you thinking of going to the Oban meet up in January?

Yes is the short answer Jon, but weather, work etc... may play a part.
I know very little about Oban and the surrounding area, although I did go to Seil (and Easdale) about 10 years ago for a family re-union; I have ancestors buried at the graveyard on Seil.

                            Jon/Iain,
Skye or Seil would be magical in January if weather permits. Seil and the Atlantic bridge and the Tigh an Truish Inn where islanders were reputedly made change out of their kilts into trousers before crossing onto the mainland are magical.
