  • Comma Beauty.

Went out trying settings supplied on here for birds in flight yesterday - not much success (me) but as i was putting all the stuff in the car a Buzzard went over so I grabbed the 520 with Bigma and followed. He went over some woods so gave up but then I found some comma Butterflies on a sunny path.
Wrong lens and I just took a few shots with wrong settings but I had a quick look at the screen (in the shade) and not too bad.....
    the 1st shot...on Shutter priority - F7., 1/800, iso (auto) 800 with +0.3 ex comp @ 313mm. filtered for noise.....cropped.

The others were just slight variations like focal length and ex comp....

    2nd...cropped - no NR.

3rd - same shot full frame.....

    4th - different pose...

and finally a full frame one of a different butterfly.

You can tell they are british....sun comes out so do the white legs...

Oh forgot to say - the high shutter speed was really usefull as it was quite windy and they were very twitchy (flashing wings open/closed).

    Hi Keith -

#2, 3 + 4 are really very nice captures - especially considering the conditions etc.

    Regards. Barr1e
Just like that - gone in a flash! Now in use.

Agree with Barr1e about the middle three - very nice captures and impressive in windy conditions too.
