  • Life and Death and a Packed Lunch

The dahlias in my garden have been magnet for honey bees this summer and a garden predator in the form of a common garden spider finally realised it as well.

The funny thing is while he was busy wrapping his prey the honey bees were happily gathering pollen right next to it!

That's nature in the raw. The bees have it right; death is a part of life but life must go on for those who remain. Super photograph.

I hope he got a tummy-ache! Garden spiders are supposed to eat the bad guys, not the good guys!
              Nice shot Paul.

Brilliant, excellent DoF. It always amazes me how hairy bugs and spiders are when seen in extreme close up - I wonder why?
