  • Micro beauty

This little micro-moth - Pyrausta aurata is one of the most beautiful British moths. It mainly goes unseen due to it's size - 8mm long, but is fairly common and I get lots on my mint flowers in the herb border around about this time of the year:

I think I've seen this around and tried to photograph it, but it's very flighty, so a brilliant picture there.

I agree a very beautiful moth and stunning picture David. Who would have thought you could quality pictures like this using ISO 3200 with a less than full frame camera! It is testimony to your skill and the OMD. Can't wait for the new FT body. Thanks for sharing.

                      Re: Micro beauty

Nice shot david. We have a large amount of mint in our garden, several types too, and are very familiar with those moths. We just call them mint moths as they don't seem to have a common name. The apple mint has gone insane this year, so has our tashkent mint, and the mint moths are feasting.

Just a short hijack David. I've been looking at those. Do you think they are worth the money? And what size do you have, this may be a stupid question but i'm wondering if they work well with step rings on different sized lenses.
