This magnificent example has eluded me on 6 visits ! This day (last week) I captured some shots in two sessions when he was "parading to excite his Lady" I hope they breed - I so would like a pair at home
Lots of shots because I wanted to capture ALL his plumage detail in its most colourful glory
as a "set" for my records
... and of course to share with ... KEITH
1. He full frontal - his Scarlet feathered chest has taken "a beating" from either young chicks or 'her indoors when mating"

2. His Lady - who has the same plumage colours of black and beige, all over, as the Males tail

3. His tail - see "her" plumage colours of beige/black here.

4. His "collar" puffs up and/or out or, down further one side than the other - as here - it is always difficult to see his face, especially his beek

5. Here you can see the blue feathers between the red chest and golden back and the green feathers around the back of his neck/below the collar. However, the beek and side of his face are 'covered'

6. He stepped closer and up onto their 'feeding log'

7. On his Mission - to get her
He is really striding out here, running

8. I could almost touch him now - except my hands were full of camera

9. Shucks! he turned away ...
