  • Can't Stop Shooting

Grabbed a few hours this morning to recce a planned shoot, not particularly intending to take pictures today. However, I took my camera nevertheless because, you know, it might come in handy. As it was the weather was good and I took quite a lot. I won't pre-empt the official shoot by posting any of the planned and researched subjects, but I couldn't resist taking a few unrelated detail shots. Unlike a few months ago, it seems that I can't stop shooting when I go out now. Doesn't matter if the pictures are rubbish, weird, or just plain ordinary, at least I'm enjoying photography again!

A path at the edge of a field, just before the sun broke through the mist.

That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Shame I've all but lost my sense of smell - and shame I didn't use a smaller aperture to get all of the roses sharp.

Maybe my photography really is going down the drain.

But I won't let that cast a shadow over my enjoyment of the hobby.
    John

I've worked hard to be this grumpy. It hasn't been easy at times but it's worth it.

Great to see you've got your "Mojo" back John. I like them all especially the "shadow" which looks a bit like a "Medieval Executioners Axe"

I too am looking forward to seeing more from you soon.

                Regards Simon

Looking good John. I really like the fog and the soft, delicateness of the roses

There's something very nice about those roses, focus seems right to me.

                          Re: Can't Stop Shooting

Thanks guys, the roses haven't done too bad for web resolution but I was a little disappointed by the fall off in sharpness for some off the petals in the original file.

Went with my wife an daughter to the Cambridge Raptor Foundation today, so loads more pics to download and sift through. Need to make some space on my hard drive first, however, and I've got another days shooting tomorrow!

Also just got an email from the new camera club in Dunmow inviting me to a hastily planned traffic trails shoot on Monday night. Still got a batch of pictures from a recent drama club dress rehersal to process too - how did I ever find time to go to work?

Nice stuff John, like the shadow one best.

And BTW, it's your puns that are going down the drain, certainly not your photography
