Portaflash portrait - Footballer and WAG

Talked our Liam and his girlfriend, Nicole, into sitting for a few shots They didn't need much encouragement, I think it was a bottle of beer each that night

Used olypaul's photoshop tutorials for added loveliness. The link is here Pauls Tutorials and converted to mono in elements 8.



F8, 1/250, iso 100, E30, 50mm f2. Used shoot thru brolly and soft box with both lights on half power( I think !), positioned either side of Liam and Nicole

Really nice, natural expressions on their faces, but Liam's left arm looks very awkward across his chest.

Was the beer before or after the photos?

Good stuff. Personally I need more light in this shot. I want the background far brighter. Probably just a personal preference, perhaps...

Thanks Jim. I see what you mean re Liam's arm and have to say we struggled getting poses for these shots as it was all new. I will have to do some research before we set everything up again

Thanks Bilbo. I would have liked the background brighter too and there is another lamp holder with the kit. That will be on the list for next time I have also seen a white shiny board being used in the foreground and nice reflections being produced - I would like to try that too with a pure white background too

A really nice portrait, the lighting works well, they must be chuffed to bits with it as you should be too
