I'm sitting outside on the terrace today, trying to write a report for a deadline. But how am I supposed to concentrate when this cutie comes visiting to see if there are any seeds left?
2000hrs, a cold winters night and the kidiots are hogging the bandwidth - this is Australia !
Sorry Cathrine, your pics may download in the morning when they should all be at school.
Midnight - the kidiots have waned leaving just enough bandwidth to open your lovely pictures, Cathrine. The reflected light is highly complimentary to your charming subject.
These are lovely Cathrine.
Interesting to see that she (and I'm pretty sure that it is a she) is still in moult and just how grey the winter coat is - much more so than that of our local squirrels. Ours are all wearing their light summer coats now.

Apart from a mad week in March with 20 degrees C and a whopping crazy 30 degrees at Whitsun, there hasn't really been a reason to change out of the winter coat yet here ;-)

Actually, looking closer - could those be teats I see on her belly? I thought they were sores at first. If so - I hope she has her "squirrelings" in my garden so I can see them grow up!! ;-)
And zooming in on her in Photoshop: Yes, she's a mother!
I should buy some nourishing squirrel food, get some extra nuts and maybe boil an egg. Moulting and breastfeeding, that takes the vitamins out of you, I know that much. At least I moulted when I breastfed...
