  • Beautiful demoiselle.

One of the very few damsels/dragons i have seen this year...a female BEAUTIFUL DEMOISELLE.
Taken with the 135-400 while waiting for a Dipper beside a stream in the heat of Sunday.

Just "Beautiful". Captures the essence of lying beside a cool stream on a hot summer's day. Nicely done.

I know how difficult it is to track these down and snap them (photographically-speaking) so well done Keith!

That's pretty neat Keith. I am enjoying seeing these insects - none about here now, too cold. This is a very pretty one.

Great shot Keith of a great insect.

There are a few good local sites for the Banded Demoiselle in my area, difficult to photograph though. I'll go looking soon.

Thanks everyone......not seen any Banded Demoiselle round here yet but these live up to their name when chasing each other around the streams. The Males are a lovely deep blue, and when the sun gets on them it's amazing.
